Cox Plate 2008

This race would hardly cause connections to panic as yet but Master O Reilly and Sirmione did absolutely naught.
Zarita stuck on okay, C'est Le Geurre got held up a touch...
Zipping a good horse at this point of his career. If he is to feature next Tuesday he will need to have developed a bit over the past 12 months but the stable knows what it is doing...

I didn't think it was "post worthy" but the hatchet job on OP Bosson done by the nine crew - particularly O'Donnell was shameful... Princess Coup is best run from the tail of the field - that's why some of us in blog land didn't back it at the foolish $3.80 available. Just because O'D got some egg on his face for calling it a lock, doesn't mean we should crucify the poor mans Boss for riding it as per (probably) trainers orders.

Princess Coup was totally ridden for luck in a slow-tempo race that Roddy controlled up front. Bosson needed to show a bit more urgency and improvise a little. Zipping took off early and ran 2nd...

If he was instructed to ride her like that even if the tempo was slow (I'd be surprised) then he shouldn't have listened. Jim Cassidy paid no attention to Jack Denham when told to ride Might And Power from back in the field in the Caulfield Cup...instead he lead and M&P won by 7 lengths...
