Star Stable Shootout

The Captain and Professor are going head to head in a battle of wit, cunning, management skills, subterfuge and (mostly) luck in the Sky Channel Star Stable challenge. If you think you can take us on send us an e-mail and we'll send you an invite. The Captain's and Professor's stables for week 1 will be published tomorrow, Saturday 4/10. Results from the day will be published a few days later along with all the sledging, backhanded comments and below the belt remarks that are in line with such a contest.

Boys, can't join the WHAB watch list due to stupid Sky only allowing you to be part of one, but, for the record, my stable looks as follows;

Weekend Hussler
Samantha Miss
Kimillsy
Littorio
Musket
Red Lord
Predatory Pricer
Time Thief
Sheeznodoubt
Bianca

With Danny Nikolic the stable jock (until I punt him next week). The comp will come down to the use of trade windows, with next week's critical...

Personally, I would like to see a list of the people who choose G Boss as their stable rider. I would then like to see said people publicly flogged for their stupidity.

Good luck! When I win, I will be sure to give WHAB readers the good oil on my equine interests.

Good to have you on board Shirtman. Keep sending through your weekly Stablestars in the comments so I'll know how much my Stable Of Awesome Superstar Champions Of The Turf (Roughriders) is smashing yours and the Professor's stables!

Trades will be critical...I feel I have looked at the bigger picture which we hold me in good stead. You guys can have all the Hussler you want because I'll be shocked if he's clean sweeping the Turnbull/Caulfield/Cox/Melbourne Cups/Hcp/Plate...

Good luck Shirtman.
I agree we should "out" people who choose Bossy.

I want the Hussler until Cox plate day - My Caulfield Cup interests are already covered in Littorio and Guillotine. The Calgary Roughriders will be simply too good for your Roughriders.

My Roughriders will give your Roughriders a run for their money!

Some people associate the spring season with the blooming of flowers, i can tell it's spring by looking at the WHAB homepage - racing galore!

I'dlove to be a part of the subterfuge, but unfortunately my SportingMind doesn't cover horse racing - i know nothing of the sport. But i agree with your Glen Boss sentiments at the very least..

Sportingmind, the Professor and I have gone nuts on racing partly due to the fact that we are making a pilgimage to Flemington for the Melbourne Cup this year and partly because football season is all but over, otherwise we would lose all direction in life. But alas, cricket will soon be upon us...and I loathe so much the boringness of the Australian Cricket team...

Danny Nikolic. What was I thinking... Well, I was thinking a hedge to allow for Raheeb (rubbish) and Rhyno Chaser (scratched). Should have stuck with C Brown. And don't even get me started on why I punted Theseo for Musket... The first of many hard luck stories which will no doubt continue through the competition, culminating in me finishing 10,432nd. Ah well, at least I will beat the Captain...

Not so sure about that Shirtman. You see, I DID have one C. Brown piloting my charges and as such have slotted into a ranking of 5,708...

We've got some work to do to catch the Professor who is ranked 2,427...

1,931st for me. The decline to 10,000th is inevitable, but hasn't started yet... Imagine if I had picked a jockey that could actually ride a winner!

Can't believe the Professor has gone with the clownish C. Williams...

Mistake was the choice of a Vic jockey for the Randwick weekend, but won't be needing to trade out.

The Hussler is about to be cut.
