In fairness to WHAB's resident punters, no-one else of sane mind was spruiking All The Good or Barbaricus. Sometimes racing doesn't make sense, just like the "Chewbacca Defense". You just have to say to yourself "this is Chewbacca...now just think about that for a second...it doesn't make sense!", shake your head in disbelief many times, and dust yourself off for next week's Cox Plate...

I hate the raiders when they arrive. I hate the way the media fawns over them. I hate the fact they send over plodders who have won over 4000m in a bog. But what I hate the most is when they win. And win well. And when Barbaricus is the best of the Aussies, you have to start to think that our staying ranks are looking about as thin as Kate Moss after the 40 hours Famine.
K McEvoy, I hereby dub thee Glen Boss The Second. Wins the Cup then comes out and proves his ineptitude by murdering Aichi in the 9th. Please go home when All the Good does.
That was very cathartic. I feel much better.
Shirtman, don't forget the big grey waiting in the wings...he'll take these invaders down! You have try and find the positives...like Efficient blowing out to double figure odds in the Cup after the media goes troppo over the Europeans.
It's not all bad...Francesca Cumani is hot!!!
And Barbaricus...good to see that Cranbourne Cup form looking the goods! The Cranbourne Cup of all things!
I have tried to take this on board... Can I draw a line through the form from the Caulfield Cup? Absolutely not.
However, given that it was a sit and sprint (i.e. No run on), you can forgive the backmarkers and maybe just be disappointed with the front runners that flopped; Guillotine (Injured), Hussler (Didn't stay) and Littorio (mind-boggling)
Closers from that race and Efficient for my M Cup - Master O Reilly, Red Ruler and Ice Chariot at Odds.
Nothing really mind boggling about Littorio. Ran 5th and perhaps despite okay results at 2400m just doesn't quite get the trip. Red Ruler is the one that caught the eye. I was a little disappointed with Master O...loomed but never really looked likely. Efficient is the one for mine. Always has been, think he is a better horse than last year and that said, 58kg poses no real dramas. Mad Rush will come in pretty well at the weights though...
I watched 100 times that last 400, O Reilly came super wide and followed NDJ. Didn't wind up as quickly but super solid to the line - crying out for the trip.
Red Ruler may have been a bit held up on the inside fence and also, I think judging by the other races that the inside was not where you wanted to be.
Ice Chariot better for further... 3200 with a long straight EXACTLY what he needs.
